How This Got started
When I first published this blog, I wanted to share my knowledge, but not take myself too seriously along the way. As the process evolved, I began to realize that among the more mundane, "fun" life experiences and knowledge that I could share were far more serious revelations that my sixth sense was warning me about. You know that sixth sense. We all have it to some degree and you can recognize it easily. Your skin gets tingly, you feel very uncomfortable with your surroundings and you want to retreat to a place where you can get your bearings..
That "sense" is the instinctive voice in your ear that tells you something isn't right with an issue that you or someone you care about are addressing, considering, concerned about or involved with. "At The End Of The Day" was originally supposed to be a sort of get-off-your-ass and pay attention, in your face, wake up call. Yea, a bit cheeky for a culinary website, but it didn't start out that way.
As I became more involved with the blog, it sort of took on a life of its own, giving me a new perspective along the way. There were too many issues across the broad societal spectrum that needed clarity. Political, Scientific, Nutritional, Moral, Religious, Sexual, yada, yada, yada, ad nauseam. I am compulsively eclectic in my interests and too many of my observations indicate that society is overlooking serious concerns while Rome appears to be, if not burning, heating up to at least a very uncomfortable point. That being said, I have seen enough soap box speakers to recognize what eternal boredom is.
What is NEVER boring is good food. It is the focal point of our special family occasions, be they holidays, birthdays, bar/bah mitzvahs, anniversaries, etc. Whether it is Cinco de Mayo, San Gennaro, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day or just a good old fashion kick back BBQ for friends in your life, good food is essential to making the event memorable. Of course, those that provide good food are usually gracious hosts/hostesses as well, and nothing makes you feel more welcome than a friendly smile and good conversation.
As a final thought, I think that it is important to share one crucial sentiment. Like most, I've seen the bottom and I've been on top, so I have been able to enjoy lavish entertaining, while minding and cherishing those times when the opportunity to share what little we had with those we cared about most created heartfelt memories, while cementing the bonds we shared with each other.
There is one understanding that has seen me through life, from the deepest financial chasm to respectable levels of success. It is the knowledge that you can never be defeated if you refuse to give up. True, you may lose once in a while along the road of life, but losing is not defeat. It is only a temporary setback until the next challenge gives you an opportunity to show the world what you're made of. Carpe Diem! You may surprise yourself. God Bless.
At the End of the Day - "When it is crunch time, in the final analysis, as push comes to shove and the rubber is meeting the road……there it is. So, Carpe Diem!! ..... or forever curb your tongue."
This blog is dedicated to the many trends that shape our society, accompanied by some interesting and educational facts that will hopefully stimulate meaningful thought. Voice your opinion but use your head. We will aggressively dump off-color rhetoric, ALL foul language and baseless opinion commentary, so if you are just spouting off and don't provide facts to back up your views, you won't like posting your views here. The latter issue will be judged solely at the discretion of this editor. For those who take offense to the editing process…get your own blog or read someone else. This being a free nation, there is, no doubt, someone who will find your opinion of value, the editor's opinion notwithstanding
